'Barón Rojo', a mythical metal band which has beenplaying since 25 years ago. After a year, they have recorded a demo of five songs which is starting
to get popular in Catalonia. They are currently doing more gigs in
the area of Barcelona. Nevertheless, they will do a three-week England
tour in July which will give them more experience and sound maturity. www.myspace.com/clepton

John Fell

John Fell is singer/guitarist in The Fontanelles, a lo-fi-rock band from South Yorkshire. Over the last three years John has played tons of shows in London and the North with both the band and on his own, acoustic-stylee. Expect to hear tunes from the Fontanelles' album "Three Finger Salute" alongside new material and possibly an ill-advised cover or two, depending on mood/cider intake.

"..great tunes, impassioned words... The Fontanelles sound like ace indie dweebs Sebadoh kicking The Cribs out of bed or Pavement charging at the day headlong. Check out 'Extasy' for a sound that's simultaneously romantic, giddy and fun." - NME

"..US-influenced catchy indie-rock akin to the poppier end of Nirvana mixed with Yo La Tengo." - Silver Rocket Club, London

Check out his band on www.myspace.com/thefontanelles

Ricky Russell

Ricky Russell is a dance-inducing tunesmith from London with a political edge. Ricky's probing lyrics and bluesy guitar and singing is backed by a funky rhythm section and electronic grooves...a blend that has invited comparisons with acts as varied as The Chemical Brothers, The Streets and The Verve.

Ricky and his band have been gigging in the UK throughout 2008 and this year's Wizzafest performance will be their third in a row - the party-loving festival vibe fitting perfectly with the band's mix of entrancing beats and sing-a-longable tunes.

Armed with a gang of friends - some Wizzafest regulars and some who'll be new to the experience - this long weekend in July promises to be a highlight of the Ricky Russell calendar, and we welcome all of you to join in the fun.

He is a graduate of the Academy of Contemporary music, where he hommed his musical talent.

His music has been compared to that of Damien Rice, John Mayer, and even James Taylor. With heart renching lyrics and the raw emotion of Simon's voice, joined with his solid and intricate guitar playing, Simon's songs stand out in what has become a very crowded genre of music.www.myspace.com/simonandrewsmusic

3 Month Ban

This is 3 Month Ban's third trip to Wizzafest. In 2006, they constructed
their own stage from wooden debris by the camp fire, which almost
collapsed under the weight of the kit
half way through their set. Last year, the monsoon that engulfed the
Saturday night and caused the generator to blow, saw them take the stage shortly before midnight. Luckily they avoided electrocution, and are back for more punishment this year with some new contemporary covers to get party started. Check out their myspace for a great clip of Are You Gonna Be My Girl from last year's Wizzafest set. This is a fantastic event - we always have a great time!
